Privacy Policy

The short version. Konvoy stores the trips you plan and the account you plan them with. Your trips are private to the people you invite. Nothing becomes public unless you publish it — and when you do, your private notes stay behind. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
1. Who we are
Konvoy Travel (“Konvoy”) is an independently run trip-planning service. It is not operated by a registered company. Questions about privacy, or requests about your data, go to about@konvoy-travel.app.
2. What we collect
- Your account. If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile photo. If you continue as a guest: only the display name you type. We never receive your Google password.
- Your trips. Trip names, dates and destinations; the places you save, with their map coordinates and categories; your notes on those places; booking flags and dates; and how you have arranged everything into days.
- Who you plan with. Which trips you belong to, your role in each, when you joined, when you were last active, and who added which place.
- Technical data. Our hosting and database providers process standard information such as IP address and request timestamps to serve the app and keep it secure.
3. Who can see it
Everyone in a trip can see your display name and email address, along with everything in that trip. Only join trips with people you are happy to share those details with.
Anyone holding an invite code. Trips are joined with a short code or link. Anyone with an active code can join and see the trip and its members. An Organizer can regenerate the code at any time, which stops the old one working immediately.
The public, but only if you publish. Publishing creates a separate public copy of a trip. Your live trip stays private. A published page opens for anyone with the link, with no account, and a page marked public may also be found by search engines.
A published copy includes the trip title and day structure, place names, coordinates and categories, and your display name and photo as the author. It deliberately leaves out:
- Your private notes on each place
- Booking flags and deadlines
- Who added each place, and member identities generally
- Ideas the group rejected
You can withdraw a published page at any time from the trip’s sharing panel, or by deleting the trip. Withdrawal is immediate, though search engines and anyone who copied the page may keep it for a while afterwards.
4. Services we use
Google Firebase stores your account and trip data and serves the app. Google Maps Platform powers the map and place search — when you search for a place, that query goes to Google to return results. These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.
5. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account and trips exist.
- Leave a trip — removes you from it. The trip continues for everyone else, and what you added stays with it.
- Delete a trip — available to its Organizer. This removes the trip, its places and its member list for everyone, takes down any published page, and deactivates the invite code. It cannot be undone.
- Delete your account — there is no button for this yet. Email about@konvoy-travel.app and we will delete your account and the personal data attached to it.
Content you contributed to a shared trip does not vanish when you leave, because it belongs to the group’s plan as much as to you. Ask the Organizer if you want it removed.
6. Your choices
You can change your display name in the app at any time. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Email about@konvoy-travel.app and we will respond within a reasonable period.
7. Children
Konvoy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Security
Access to a trip is enforced by server-side rules, so it can only be read by its members. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot promise otherwise — in particular an invite code is a shared secret, and anyone you give it to can use it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as Konvoy changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will make a reasonable effort to flag significant changes.
